Elias Sorensen has certainly made a name for himself this season whilst playing in Newcastle United’s developmental side.
The Danish striker has managed to bag 18 goals so far in the campaign and talk has started to emerge of giving him a chance in the first-team.
Newcastle obviously think highly of the player as Rafa Benitez has had him train with the senior side on a number of occasions and it appears as though they are looking to tie his long-term future down.
It is understood that the player wants £2,500-a-week but has been offered £1,500-a-week by the club so far.
Sorensen is certainly one of Newcastle’s most exciting prospects to come out of the academy recently and it makes sense for the club to try and tie down his long-term future.
The 19-year-old’s current deal expires at the end of the current season and is likely to have a number of admirers if things are not sorted.
It remains to be seen if whether the teenager or the club come to a compromise over a deal, but it is clear that one needs to be completed in the very near future.
