Newcastle must look to bring Moussa Sissoko back to St James’ Park

Newcastle United will be desperate to forget about their last result against Wolves as they failed to hold onto all three points, as the Midlands club scored in the dying embers.

The Magpies still find themselves at risk of slipping into relegation trouble as they’re currently only one point above Southampton, who occupy 18th position.

Mike Ashley should now turn his attention towards the summer transfer window, with a fellow London club possibly offering up the services of one of their players. Indeed, it’s believed that Spurs are looking to offload Moussa Sissoko at the next available opportunity, according to Calciomercato.

Sissoko has developed into one of the best midfielders in the Premier League this season, as he continues to run things in the middle of the park, with his pace and energy constantly working wonders.

Newcastle signed Moussa Sissoko from French side Toulouse back in 2013 for £2 million.

It’s safe to say that some Newcastle fans may remember the Frenchman for a number of wrong reasons, but he definitely did have a positive impact on the field for the Magpies at times. His most memorable moments were his home debut performance against Chelsea as he grabbed a brace, along with producing three assists against Norwich.

It’s safe to say that the Magpies are in desperate need of a midfielder who can grab the game by the scruff of its neck as Mohamed Diame has failed to impress and Jonjo Shelvey is out injured, so Rafa Benitez has been left with the likes of Sean Longstaff and Isaac Hayden, who have impressed to be fair.

Ashley can shock everyone and make a big statement by bringing the midfielder back to St James’ Park in the summer transfer window, as the 29-year-old has plenty of European experience and deserves to be playing at a top-six side in the Premier League.

So, having established himself as a star this season, he could transform Benitez’s side.
