Newcastle United are being linked with a swoop for an impressive Serie A talent this January.
The Uruguay international has been impressive for AC Milan since arriving in the summer from Genoa, which has led to suggestions that the Premier League side could make an official offer in the coming days.
However, it would appear that a possible transfer could be difficult for Newcastle to complete, despite Milan being in a potential position where they are forced to sell.
Given that the player has only been at the San Siro for six months, that in itself would deem a potential deal difficult to make.
However, it is also understood that Laxalt is happy to remain with his current employers and he has a good relationship with current manager Gennaro Gattuso.
Newcastle will need to add bodies in the winter transfer window if they are to build on their current performances and pull away from the relegation zone.
However, it remains to be seen if Benitez will be given the money to make offers for players, including Laxalt.
It would seem that Newcastle could struggle to bring the Uruguay international to St. James’ Park and a deal to land the Milan player could be a little too ambitious for them to conclude.
