Newcastle United fans in the Transfer Tavern will be preparing them for change ahead of next season as the club has revealed a number of players are set to leave in the summer.
The Chronicle Live are reporting that six youngsters from the developmental side are set to depart from the club after being told their deals would not be renewed. The likes of Curtis Good, Stuart Findlay, Mackenzie Heaney, Macaulay Gillesphey, Tom Heardman and Kyle Cameron are the ones who have been told they will need to find new clubs.
The Under-23 side has performed well, having reached the semi-final stage of the Premier League International Cup having been knocked out by Porto in the final moments. Head Coach Ben Dawson has said that he does not feel the players will be affected by the news.
“They have not let it affect them and said: ‘I’m going to get a career elsewhere’, he told the Chronicle Live.
“They have really pushed on.
“They have kept their standards high in training and out on the pitch.
“You look at some of the performances of the lads who are leaving you wouldn’t say they had chucked the towel in, they have given everything.”
The Newcastle fans in the Tavern will be disappointed to see that some of their youngsters are going to be released and have failed to make an impact or impression on the first-team. The Magpies locals will be looking to who they can bring in during the summer, rather than who will be leaving the team.
