Newcastle set for cash windfall as flop forward gears up for lucrative Middle East move

Papiss Cisse

The Newcastle United fans who are competing in a pool tournament in The Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing the potential exit of a striker this summer.

The Daily Mail is reporting that striker Papiss Cisse is currently in talks with Qatari club Lekhwiya over a possible move this summer.

The striker is one of many expected to leave the club this summer as the club look to rebuild following their relegation to the Championship.

The Senegalese was a revelation when he first joined the club in the winter of 2012, taking to the Premier League with ease and scoring some fabulous goals.

However, but the last couple of seasons the 30-year old has seen his form has dropped as the club continued to struggle as a top flight team.

Our landlord in The Tavern is not surprised to see Cisse’s time on Tyneside coming to an end and thinks when he is on form he is one of the most feared strikers in the Premier League and it’s a pity that he had more off days than good during his time at St James Park.

Would Cisse have been a good option to have around in the Championship?
