Newcastle star issues battle cry to players following second successive PL defeat – report

Newcastle United will be looking to finish the season as strongly as possible after cementing their place in the top-flight, and fans in the Transfer Tavern will want the club to go from strength-to-strength.

The Magpies have had a strong showing in the second half of the season, having turned things around in 2018, and that has largely been down to the signings Rafa Benitez made in the winter.

Kenedy, Martin Dubravka and Islam Slimani joined the club on loan from Chelsea, Sparta Prague and Leicester City respectively and have made an instant impact to the side. The locals in the bar have been vocal in wanting to keep them at St James’ Park beyond the end of the season.

The goalkeeper himself has not hidden his desire to remain in the North-East and is keen for the club to continue to playing as well as they can to help his chances of making a stay permanent.

“We have to keep going in every game,” he told NUFC TV via The Shields Gazette.

“We don’t have to think about it that we have three more games. We have the next game, and we have to be ready for that and train well.

“Everybody in the city says we’re safe, but I’m not playing like that, because I came for half a season and I have to show myself and also my team-mates would like to show themselves.

“They’re great players, and they want to give everything for the club. We have to put everything into the games.”

Landlord’s Verdict

The Newcastle locals in the Tavern will share the same opinions that Dubravka has and will be hoping the club can continue to finish in the top-ten. The punters have quickly taken to the goalkeeper and will hope he has done enough for the club to sign him on a permanent deal at the end of the season.
