Newcastle United failed to secure all three points against Watford earlier on today as a late equaliser ruled out Salomon Rondon’s first-half goal.
The Magpies have certainly improved under Rafa Benitez in recent times, but closing out games continues to be an issue, so improvements are definitely required.
Interestingly, it appears as if the Tyneside club are eyeing a possible swoop, as according to The Mirror, Benitez is considering a move for Leeds United striker Kemar Roofe.
Indeed, the Spaniard is considering a move for Kemar Roofe if funds are made available to him.
Roofe has been prolific this season, scoring 13 goals in 18 games for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
Sadly, Rondon has struggled for support at the pinnacle of the attack in the current campaign, so additional attacking firepower is required in the January transfer window.
Of course, Leeds will want him to help their promotion push, but a move to the Premier League may be too hard for Roofe to turn down.
Kemar Roofe could definitely do a job at the pinnacle of the attack alongside Rondon during the second half of the season, but a number of other clubs have previously registered an interest in the Englishman.
Newcastle United should go all out to sign Roofe as he has shown that he can ensure a consistent flow of goals, with the ability to link and hold up play.
