Newcastle United have been having a torrid time at the moment on and off the pitch and things do not look as though they will be resolved any time soon.
The club are thought to be subject of a potential takeover, however, it remains to be seen if anything official ever comes of the speculation surrounding it.
Performances on the pitch have not yet produced the results either, with the club sitting in the bottom three after eight games, as they have failed to win a game this season.
Rafa Benitez is also a concern for the Magpies as the Spaniard has refused to commit his future to the club, with his contract currently set to expire in the summer.
It has been claimed the club plan to hold discussions about the possibility of keeping hold of Salomon Rondon and Kenedy beyond the end of their loan spells.
“The club stated it will have a decision to make on Kenedy and Rondon depending on how they play for the rest of the season, and then subject to discussions with the players and their parent clubs,” Newcastle’s executive panel said.
Newcastle have become a bit of a crisis club at the moment, however, this could be some positive news for the fans.
The Magpies will need to improve drastically to have any chance of keeping the duo at St. James’ Park beyond the end of the current campaign, as they will both likely want to remain in the Premier League.
However, it should be considered that keeping Benitez at the club should be their main aim and if they manage to do that, the more likely they will be able to add the pair permanently, should their respective clubs allow for it to happen.
