Newcastle United are being linked with a player that can play any position on the left-hand side of the field.
The South American, who made a name for himself during the World Cup, has failed to live up to the hype at the San Siro and could be made available in January – just six months after joining from Genoa.
The Serie A outfit are understood to be ready to consider a sale of their Uruguay international and could accept a fee in the region of €12million.
However, it is believed Laxalt is not attracted to the possibility of a move to Newcastle United and there are no concrete offers on the table at the moment – with interest from clubs in Italy as well.
Although a €12m fee would normally be considered a great price for a footballer with his international experience, Newcastle could find it difficult to bring him to St. James’ Park if they look to make an offer.
Laxalt is said to not be too keen on a move to the Premier League outfit, whilst he may also have more attractive offers in the country he currently plies his trade in.
Newcastle certainly need to add bodies in January to ensure they can survive relegation from the Premier League once again, however, it remains to be seen if the 25-year-old is one of those that can be added to their squad.
