Newcastle United boss eager to land one of his former players

noble.jpgNewcastle United fans in the Football Transfer Tavern feel that Alan Pardew needs to do an awful lot at the club this summer to win them back over.

And it looks like he’s doing his very best with the Daily Star claiming that Pardew is targeting West Ham United’s central midfielder Mark Noble.

Noble is contracted to the club until 2016 and his value is rumoured to be around the £8 million mark.

Pardew knows all about what Noble can offer having managed the Hammers star between 2003 and 2006 and it’s for that reason Pardew wants him at St. James’ Park.

But Newcastle may struggle to lure the 27-year-old away from Upton Park due to a rare quality of his – loyalty.

Loyalty is a rare quantity in football these days but Newcastle will have to come up against it if they’re to lure away the West Ham fans favourite.

Born in Canning Town, Noble has been with the Hammers for a decade and unless the owners choose to cash in on any deal, it’s highly unlikely that Pardew will get his man.

If Pardew is unable to sign the West Ham Player of the Year, he’s likely to turn his attentions to Swansea City midfielder Jonjo Shelvey who might be slightly easier to lure away from South Wales.
