One of the Football Transfer Tavern’s favourite midfield men Yohan Cabaye could quit Newcastle United this summer but the North East club are staying cool over transfer talk, as reported by the Evening Chronicle.
The Frenchman has been linked with a big move away from St. James’ Park this summer and PSG boss Laurent Blanc openly admitted his interest in the stylish midfielder yesterday.
Blanc also believes that Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas wants to add Cabaye to his never ending list of central midfielders at White Hart Lane if Gareth Bale is sold to Real Madrid.
Newcastle are not best pleased with Blanc’s comments and have set their price for Cabaye which is set to scare off any potential suitors.
The 27-year-old may want to push through a move away from the North East however after being left out of the France squad to face Belgium next week which could be catastrophic, what with it being a World Cup season.
The chance to play for big spending PSG may be too hard to turn down the midfielder who is desperate to be in Brazil with his national compatriots next summer.
Blanc confirmed that he would like to see Cabaye in Paris come September but the club are yet to make an offer to Newcastle which will be dealt with by Joe Kinnear.
“He is a very good player, I have not changed my mind,” Blanc said.
”I read that Tottenham are also interested. Newcastle, Tottenham or Paris, I hope he will be at a big club in September.”
