Newcastle United continue to fight against relegation in the Premier League this term, and are putting up quite the fight under manager Rafa Benitez despite two relatively quiet transfer windows in succession.
The Magpies will be hoping to get enough points on the board over the coming weeks to secure their top flight status next term, and here in the Tavern, our landlord is hoping they can do just that, as he loves having the Toon Army in for a few beers over a weekend.
This week, he’s been chatting with a couple of the Newcastle fans who have made it into the boozer despite the bad weather, and discussions have turned to who the club should look to move on in the summer before they even think about signing new players.
One such player is forward Joselu, who, despite only arriving at the club last year, has struggled for form and is looking nowhere near like being the solution to any sort of goalscoring woes the club might have.
The Spaniard has never looked like being a prolific scorer in the Premier League, with his time at Stoke showing similar traits, and this summer could well see Benitez look to move his fellow countryman on, with clubs in La Liga likely to show an interest.
Joselu looks like he could deliver at a lower standard, but in the Premier League and for a big club like Newcastle, he just does not seem to have the ‘it factor’, and could well be on his way come the summer window.
Toon Army, what do you think? Time for Joselu to move on? Let us know in the comments!
