The Newcastle United fans are gathered at the dartboard in The Transfer Tavern this evening discussing reports that the club are considering a possible change of manager.
The Chronicle is reporting that following discussions at a board meeting regarding Steve McClaren’s future as manager is still no closer to being resolved.
The former England manager has over seen a disastrous season to date at St James Park which sees the North East giants in the relegation places fighting for their Premier League lives.
According to reports, a host of agents have contacted the club representing the likes of Rafael Benitez and David Moyes to make the club aware that they are interested in taking over the club.
One thing is for sure it’s set to be an uncertain few days for current boss Steve McClaren as he waits to see if he is in control for Newcastle’s next game against Sunderland in what will be the biggest Tyne Wear Derby for sometime.
The Newcastle fans in The Tavern are concerned that the board are even taking this long discussing McClaren’s future and think that if he remains in charge for any longer the club may as well consign itself to Championship football next season.
