Newcastle United: Fans debate whether they want Papiss Cisse return after transfer rumour

It’s been over three years since Papiss Cisse donned the Newcastle jersey, but recent rumours suggested he could make a return to Tyneside.
The 34-year-old had a hit debut season for the Magpies, spearheading their Europa League qualification in 2011/12, perhaps most notably in scoring the Premier League Goal of the Season against Chelsea.
Supporters look back fondly on that wondergoal which rounded off a superb 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge, with Chelsea legend Didier Drogba famously looking astonished once the ball flew past Petr Cech in a moment to remember for the Magpies.
Of course, the rest of his Newcastle career is slightly less memorable – with Cisse only going on to score 31 goals in four more seasons in the North-East, never again hitting his sensational 2012 heights.
However, the Senegalese striker is currently in hot form for Turkish giants Alanyaspor, bagging nine goals in nine league appearances so far – and now, according to TeamTalk via the Chronicle, a return to Newcastle was reportedly on the cards – though this since been played down.
Nevertheless, Newcastle fans took to Twitter in response to the rumours with their opposing verdicts – and as usual – they don’t hold back:
