Following his superb long-range strike to clinch a euphoric 1-0 home win over Manchester United, midfielder Matthew Longstaff has now won a Goal of the Month award for his efforts.
Which brother can go further in the game?
Having already rounded off a superb few weeks in black and white, scoring one of the Magpies’ most important goals of the season so far on his first-ever start, Longstaff has now been awarded the cherry on top with a deserved Goal of the Month accolade.
The Englishman had to compete with the likes of David Silva and Adama Traore for the award, but ended up coming out on top after such a memorable strike on his debut against one of the biggest clubs in the world.
As a result, the Geordie faithful have flocked to social media and hailed the academy graduate – prompting some hilarious comparisons and brilliant praise below.
