Newcastle United: Fans react to Matt Ritchie operation news

Newcastle United fans have taken to Twitter to wish Matt Ritchie a speedy recovery following an ankle injury sustained in the Magpies’ Carabao Cup clash with Leicester.
Will Miguel Almiron come good?
Yes

No

The Scottish winger had to be taken off following Hamza Choudhury’s first half challenge in their penalty shoot-out cup loss, with the 30-year-old needing stitches in three places.
Despite the dangerous challenge, Foxes midfielder Choudhury managed to escape with no repercussions, but unfortunately the same could not be said for Ritchie who had to undergo minor ankle surgery.
A club statement read: “Following the successful surgery, it is hoped that Ritchie will be able to resume full training shortly and could return to first team action towards the end of this month.”
The former Bournemouth man has steadily become a fan favourite on Tyneside since his move to the club back in 2016, so supporters will be glad of the news he could be back in black and white at the end of October.
With the news coming in, Newcastle fans quickly took to social media to voice their best wishes to Ritchie:
