Following Newcastle United’s most recent setback, a 1-1 draw to Wolves at St. James’ Park, some fans took aim at midfielder Miguel Almiron’s sub-par performance.
Will Miguel Almiron come good?
The Magpies originally took the lead through Jamal Lascelle’s thumping first-half header before Wolves winger Jonny equalised with 15 minutes left on the clock.
As a result, Steve Bruce’s side failed to take advantage of a winnable game and are left just one point above the relegation zone.
After missing a great early chance to put Newcastle in the ascendancy following a superb run in-behind, Almiron has been at the brunt of some criticism for not burying the opportunity.
The Paraguayan moved to Tyneside from MLS side Atlanta for £20 million, temporarily breaking the Magpies’ transfer record, with the playmaker so far failing to register a goal or assist in black and white, as per WhoScored.com.
Despite some flashes of brilliance, a section of Newcastle fans took aim at Almiron following his golden chance to get on the scoresheet.
