The Newcastle United fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are currently having a party.
There’s jelly and ice cream, bunting and even a karaoke machine set up in the corner.
We don’t usually let this sort of raucous behaviour go on without a good enough reason to celebrate – and the fans have exactly that.
Because according to the Daily Star, Newcastle have signed their first player on a permanent deal for more than 18 months.
Tenerife youngster Ayoze Perez is the man who’s ended the drought at St. James’ Park arriving in a deal believed to be worth £1.5 million.
The Magpies had previously relied on loan deals to get them through despite selling a host of players including Yohan Cabaye for a more than significant sum
News of the youngster’s arrival will no doubt please Magpies fans but they will need to witness many more incomings at the club before Alan Pardew and Mike Ashley are both welcomed back into their good books.
Newcastle fans. The signing of Ayoze Perez is obviously a good way to set the ball rolling, but how many players will be needed at your club before you start targeting Champions League football? Let us know your thoughts below.
