The Newcastle United fans in the Transfer Tavern are already talking about who they could bring in this summer if they do get promoted.
Although they have slipped behind in the race for the Championship title, the Magpies are still in pole position to grab one of the two automatic promotion spots as they currently command an eight point lead over Huddersfield Town with four games left to play (five for Huddersfield, who play Wolves in their game in hand).
One target which has emerged for Benitez’s side is Ben Osborn, according to The Sun, from Championship rivals Nottingham Forest.
The Newcastle fans by the bar are getting quite excited about this potential move but they face competition from Premier League duo Swansea City and Burnley for his signature.
Swansea may fall behind in the race to land the 22-year-old if they get relegated though.
Osborn is a talented attacking midfielder with a bright future.
The Nottingham Forest academy product is yet another fine young player to come out of the youth system there, joining the likes of Matty Cash and Ben Brereton as a first team regular.
With well over 100 senior appearances to his name, Osborn is likely to be hot property this summer.
Newcastle want to rekindle the interest they showed in January but face a three-club battle to land the former England under-20 international.
