Newcastle United manager Steve McClaren on the brink as pressure increases

mcclaren422The Newcastle United supporters who can regularly be found backing their team here in the Transfer Tavern are getting increasingly concerned about the club’s ability to avoid relegation, with Saturday’s 5-1 drubbing at the hands of Chelsea the latest setback.

Our landlord has spotted some news that may or may not put a smile on some of the Magpies supporters’ faces however, with news that boss Steve McClaren could be on the brink at St James’ Park.

The Guardian are reporting that the ex-England head coach has the next two games to save his job with the club facing two vital games at Stoke City and at home to Bournemouth in the coming weeks.

The club’s hierarchy are growing increasingly frustrated with the team’s performances and are set to act unless results improve.

One Newcastle fan is tucking into his burger and pint meal deal and thinks McClaren should have been dismissed a long time ago, and doing it now wouldn’t really change anything!

Meanwhile, our landlord reckons McClaren is the right man for the job, and hopes he can fend off the threat of relegation!

Newcastle fans… Should McClaren stay or go? Is he good enough for Newcastle? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
