The Newcastle United fans in the Transfer Tavern are desperate to sign a new centre back this summer.
Centre half has been identified as a priority position for Newcastle United this summer as Rafa Benitez looks to bring in a top player in that department.
A number of names have already been mentioned as targets for Newcastle, including Stoke City captain Ryan Shawcross.
And they are now being linked with Andrea Ranocchia.
The Chronicle are reporting that Inter Milan defender Andrea Ranocchi will be offered to Newcastle United this summer.
Swansea City and Olympiakos are also interested in the Italy international, who impressed during his time in the Premier League.
Ranocchia joined Hull City in the January transfer window on loan and helped shore up their defence but he could not prevent them from relegation.
The 29-year-old is a towering centre half and he fits the bill for Rafa Benitez in being dominant in the air.
Newcastle are willing to sell one or both of Grant Hanley and Chancel Mbemba this summer and Benitez wants to add an experienced centre back to compete with Jamaal Lascelles and Ciaran Clark.
Ranocchia would definitely bring experience to the back line at Newcastle, having played over 150 games for Inter Milan and over 20 caps for Italy.
