We’ve had to deal with a lot of upset Newcastle United fans in the Transfer Tavern this year, with fans often found over by the jukebox listening to classics and reminiscing of a time where the Magpies enjoyed better fortune.
Mike Ashley has a plan though as The Telegraph have declared the Newcastle chairman will make funds available to under-fire manager Steve McClaren in January, who he will keep faith with as the board are sympathetic towards the former Derby County boss due to the problems he inherited.
This is good news for our cleaners as it suggests that there won’t be as many smashed glasses during Newcastle games anymore but the changes come with a huge risk.
Per the reports, Newcastle will listen to offers for Cheick Tiote, Papiss Cisse, Gabriel Iberian, Vernon Anita and Moussa Sissoko, whilst they will also look to get rid of Mike Williamson, Sylvain Marveaux and Yoan Gouffran.
The player sales will provide the majority of the funds for McClaren to splash in the New Year but selling half of your squad doesn’t seem like the best route to success.
