Newcastle United should have moved for this top striker during the summer

Newcastle United endured a frustrating summer in the transfer market as Rafa Benitez only managed to land a handful of the targets he had shortlisted while he missed out on numerous players he would have had in mind.

The Magpies though have made a decent start following a shakey opening few games, and the club can look forward to a good seasNeon ahead with the Spaniard at the helm.

However, the club did miss a trick in not signing certain players, and one player who our landlord thinks should have gone out and got is Sporting Lisbon goalscoring sensation Das Bost.

The 28-year-old forward has become one of the hottest striking prospects on the continent following a blistering few seasons for both Wolfsburg, and currently Sporting, where he smashed in 34 goals in his debut season over in Portugal.

While he would have not been the cheapest option, Bost would certainly have been an almost guarantee of goals, with the likes of Dwight Gayle and Joselu not looking they are capable of being able to deliver the goods as yet.

Bost is a lethal finisher and it surely won’t be long before one of the Premier League big boys takes a punt on the impressive striker. It could well be that Newcastle have missed the boat in terms of signing the player, and they could well live to regret not making a move for him.

Newcastle fans, what do you think? Would you have taken Bost? Let us know!
