There is some seriously bad news for Newcastle United fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern, after Metro claimed that the club could well be about to lose one of their biggest stars.
Whilst the club have been worrying about the future of skipper Fabricio Coloccini, their star attacking midfielder, Yohan Cabaye, has opened the door for a winter move to Ligue 1.
The Frenchman is highly sought after and not only are mega rich Paris Saint Germain chasing him, but the likes of Manchester United are also eyeing the player.
Newcastle and Alan Pardew may well be on a brilliant run of form at the minute, but that does not mean that Cabaye is happy to stay at the Magpies.
Not only would the money on offer with French champions PSG represent a huge attraction, but also the fact that they are in the Champions League while the chances of winning titles is far greater at the Parc Des Princes.
Cabaye claimed to beIN Sport: “Contact with PSG? Not to my knowledge,
“I know that in January the rumours will start all over again. I’d like to know who does not want to play for Paris Saint-Germain today?”
He also spoke about his confidence this season, and noted: “I feel great, confident, especially compared to last season.”
Will Cabaye see out the season on Tyneside with Newcastle United? Let us know your thoughts below.
