According to The Mirror, the Frenchman is demanding a whopping £100,000 a week to join the Magpies.
The 28-year-old becomes a free agent next month after his current deal expires and he’s been linked with a host of Premier League clubs.
Sunderland, Swansea City and West Ham United have also been linked to his signature my none of the trio are willing to pay such an exorbitant amount.
Swansea were believed to have been particularly interested in is signature with rumours rife that Wilfried Bony is on the shopping list of a lot of elite sides.
But the £100,000 per week demanded has put them right off and they’re now looking at other deals just in case Bony does leave.
Newcastle are believed to still be in talks with Gomis as they look to replace Loic Remy who will not be signing on a permanent deal.
