The Newcastle United fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have found some renewed hope when it comes to signing Loic Remy – according to the Daily Express.
It had been thought that the Tyneside outfit had no chance of signing the French international because he was set on a move to a top four club.
However reported interest from North London club Arsenal is yet to materialise and a move to Liverpool fell through due to an issue with his medical.
Remy’s medical remains a mystery, particularly for his current boss at QPR, Harry Redknapp who said: “Reports have come out that he failed a medical.
“That’s not possible. He is a very fit lad, there has to be another reason.”
According to reports, Newcastle could now be back in the market for Remy but only if they stump up the £15 million Queens Park Rangers want for the attacker.
And to convince Remy to give up on his Champions League dream, they are likely to need to make the former Marseille player a top earner at the club.
Newcastle fans. Did Remy impress you enough last season to warrant paying £15 million and making him the club’s top earner? Let us know your thoughts below.
