It’s a big day in the Football Transfer Tavern as Chelsea take on Atletico Madrid in the second Champions League semi-final tonight.
The winners from Stamford Bridge will take on Real Madrid in the Lisbon final and before the game a number of Atletico fans have taken residence in the bar.
And we have some speculation for them as talkSPORT report that Diego Simeone wants to sign Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul in the summer transfer window.
The La Liga side will line up tonight with Chelsea’s on-loan keeper Thibaut Courtois between the sticks but he is expected to return to Stamford Bridge on a permanent basis for next season.
The La Liga table-toppers are now on the lookout for potential replacements, and Atletico’s sporting director Jose Luis Caminero watched the Dutchman during his sides’ 3-0 defeat to Arsenal on Monday.
Krul is thought to fed up at the lack of progress under Alan Pardew at St. James’ Park and would be willing to leave with Atletico planning to offer £10 million for his services.
Do you think that Newcastle can keep hold of their keeper? Let us know your thoughts below.
