Newcastle United fans are split in the Football Transfer Tavern after hearing that they will be offered the chance to sign their former target man in January and it is believed Alan Pardew is keen on the move.
According to The Mirror, West Ham are looking to offload the injury prone forward whilst Andy Carroll is looking for a fresh start meaning a move back to St. James’ Park could be ideal for all parties.
Punters in the tavern feel that the 25-year-old’s career has changed for the worse since Carroll made a name for himself at Newcastle.
With Carroll nearing a return from his recent injury blow which kept him out of the majority of pre-season, his return from injury comes at a time when his Upton Park future hangs in the balance.
After the arrival of the explosive trio Diafra Sakho, Enner Valencia and Mauro Zarate who have all hit the ground running, many of our resident Hammers realise that Sam Allardyce isn’t as reliant on the giant Geordie forward as he once was.
Whilst on the other hand, Pardew has been chasing Carroll for the past 18 months and will hope to bring him home as he is desperate to make it right at St James’ Park after a difficult start to 2014/15.
He would hope the arrival of Carroll would add more competition up front as well as providing support for the struggling Emmanuel Riviere.
