According to The Mirror, Alan Pardew is hopeful that he can lure former Magpies striker Andy Carroll back to St. James’ Park.
The striker’s career has stuttered somewhat since he moved from St. James’ Park to Liverpool for £35 million.
He has since moved to East London outfit West Ham in a deal worth £15 million but that move that failed to reignite his career.
But despite this Pardew is ready to offer the Hammers their £15 million back to bring the England star back to the place he calls home.
A Toon source said: “Like all Geordies, Andy Carroll has never lost his love for Newcastle and we are sure if West Ham agree to sell we would have no difficulty in persuading him to come home.”
However Carroll would need to take a major wage cut to return home with Newcastle unlikely to match the £120,000 he currently earns.
West Ham could be in the mood to sell having already signed striking reinforcements Enner Valencia and Mauro Zarate this summer.
