The Newcastle owner promised new signings to help the club towards it’s target of lifting a trophy on the final day of last season, and in fairness to him he has delivered.
The Mirror reports that the Magpies are set to take their summer spending past the £50million mark, a figure that would have had most of our punters spitting their pints out in shock had it been mentioned three months previously.
The latest signing is set to be 22-year-old winger Florian Thauvin from Marseille according to reports.
The Magpies have been chasing the youngster all summer, and are hoping £12million will be enough to get their man by the end of the week.
If the deal does go through, Thauvin will become the Toon Army’s fifth major summer signing under new boss Steve McClaren.
