And according to The Mirror, Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew wants to sign Arsenal youngster Serge Gnabry on a season-long loan.
But the former West Ham United gaffer faces a fight for his services with North East arch-rivals Sunderland also in the hunt for the 19-year old as are Southampton.
Arsene Wenger has no intentions of letting the German youth international leave the club on a permament transfer as he feels he is a major prospect.
But a loan deal could be on the cards for the youngster as he looks for regular first team action; something that will not be as easy to obtain at Arsenal.
Gnabry made his first team debut in 2012/13 and continued that with 14 first team appearances last summer.
He also scored his first professional goal for the club last September against Swansea City but a loan move to Newcastle United could still be on the cards.
The Magpies have already signed Ajax star Siem de Jong, Montpellier’s Remy Cabella and Monaco’s Emmanuel Riviere this summer but Pardew is keen to continue his transfer market movements.
