Amazingly, Newcastle United didn’t lose last night. Not that you’d be able to tell if you saw the mood the Geordie drinkers in the Transfer Tavern were in today, who are once again lamenting Mike Ashley’s name.
The Magpies were frustrated to a 2-2 draw at home to QPR last night, a pretty poor result that followed a bone-dry January transfer market and some of the Tyneside locals are actually starting to worry about the notion of a battle to even finish in the top two.
While much of their transfer window was dominated by talk of a potential return to Tyneside for Andros Townsend, the Toon Army were also linked with a move for Swansea City winger Mo Barrow. Though the Gambian may not have proved to be the most exciting name ever touted a potential target for the St. James’ park giants, the fact he’s instead joined Leeds could come back to bite the black and white cause.
With that in mind, here are TWO reasons Newcastle will regret not signing Mo Barrow.
