With the Newcastle United fans in the Transfer Tavern eagerly awaiting their return to the Premier League, celebrations amongst them has been rife.
Rafa Benitez recently confirmed he’d be remaining on in charge of the Toon Army and the Championship title-winners will no doubt need a big summer to compete in the top tier once again.
So, reports from the Chronicle suggesting a player could soon leave St. James’ Park have proved rather promising. Grant Hanley is reportedly of interest to the likes of Wolves and Derby County this summer, having struggled to wholly convince in black and white.
Indeed, both Wolves and Derby could even be offered his services over the course of the summer, with Jamaal Lascelles and Ciaran Clark the first choice central defenders.
Most of the Geordies here in the Tavern hope selling the Scotland international could help raise even more funds for Benitez to splash this summer, with the former Blackburn skipper largely playing on the periphery of the first-team this season.
