Newcastle are well aware of the need to improve their squad quality during the January transfer window.
With four wins in the 18 Premier League games they have played so far, issues have been glaringly obvious.
As the second lowest scoring team in the league, Newcastle will be wanting to sign reinforcements during the January transfer window, especially in the forward position.
Although Salomon Rondon has offered some threat towards the opposition’s goal, back-up is needed and could be found in former Newcastle star Andy Carroll.
Carroll, (who is valued at £7.2 million on Transfermarkt) has recently made his comeback into the West Ham team, after another injury set-back.
The 29-year-old has been cursed with injuries throughout his career but every team knows of his quality – when fully fit.
At Newcastle, he became a massive star and that loving feeling between the pair has surely not eroded.
He scored 33 times in 90 appearances during his spell at St James’ Park and a big, number nine is exactly what Newcastle fans love to see at their club.
Andy Carroll is a player that when on the pitch, gives his all and that is what fans love about their players.
He may not be the best forward but when he gives maximum effort, that’s all you can ask for really.
If the Magpies could keep him fit, Carroll could be a massive addition and another reason to suggest they will avoid relegation again this season.
Andy Carroll is out of contract in the summer so now is the time to move for Newcastle and what a difference it could make to their season.
