Another potential blow for Rafa Benitez and Newcastle United emerges

Newcastle United fans here in the Tavern are pleased with the weekend’s efforts, after securing a tough point away at the Vitality Stadium.

The Magpies enjoyed another successful matchday in the Premier League that saw their unbeaten streak stretched to four games. Indeed, Rafa Benitez’s side appear to be hitting form at the perfect time, with relegation troubles now beginning to slowly disappear.

Of course, Saturday was always going to be a memorable day in the minds of many of our local residents, with the underperforming Dwight Gayle bagging himself a brace in the process. But, the Englishman’s withdrawal at the Vitality Stadium was a troubling sign for many, as fitness expert Ben Dinnery revealed some worrying news for Newcastle fans on Twitter.

According to Dinnery, Dwight Gayle will be assessed after complaining of muscular tightness in the hamstring during Saturday’s draw.

Possibly a big blow for Newcastle United after producing a magnificent performance against the Cherries, with the emotional rollercoaster of a season taking another twist for the Magpies after receiving the latest injury news.

Indeed, after recently finding out that January signing Islam Slimani is set to face a couple more weeks out on the sidelines, our local residents are fearing the worst for their current striker situation. And, with avoiding relegation still very much the main aim for Rafa Benitez, losing out on the Englishman’s services could be prove to be the decisive factor at the end of the season.

Landlord’s Verdict:

It could potentially be a season-defining moment for the Magpies, as the ineffective Joselu may be gifted an opportunity to lead the line once again. And, judging by the current injury woes that Newcastle United are experiencing, it’ll be an uphill task from here on in to avoid relegation back to the Championship.
