Our Newcastle fans here in the Transfer Tavern are certainly looking forward to seeing their side trying to turn things around after a poor start to the season.
The Magpies have had a tough start to the campaign with two losses in the league and they’ll certainly need to do better than that if they are to remain in the division come the end of the year.
For sure, then, any win they can get they’ll surely take right now and so they’re bound to want to try and get some momentum going against a decent looking Nottingham Forest side tomorrow in the EFL Cup.
They look as though they’ll have to perform without Dwight Gayle up top, though, with him being a doubt for the game thanks to an illness – as per Lee Ryder on Twitter:
Dwight Gayle has been suffering with an illness and could miss the game with Nott’m Forest #nufc

The striker has had a tough return to the Premier League – along with the rest of his team-mates – and would have surely liked the chance to try and open his goal-scoring account against Forest tomorrow.
It appears, though, that that will not be happening now.
Gayle has had a tough start to this season and any game he could play where he scores in would be welcomed right now.
For sure, he would have fancied playing against Forest but it seems as though he is going to have to sit the clash out at St. James’ Park tomorrow night.
