The international break has come at a welcome time for Newcastle United given their dismal start to the Premier League season.

A host of Rafael Benitez’s squad have been selected for the upcoming international fixtures. Ciaran Clark started for the Republic of Ireland during their 4-1 drumming at the hands of Wales. Elsewhere, Newcastle fans will hope Solomon Rondon can open his account for the season against Colombia and Panama.

The Magpies currently sit in the relegation zone after picking up just one point from their opening four fixtures. Things do not get any easier for Benitez with a visit from Arsenal scheduled for next weekend. Should fortunes not improve, Mike Ashley will be forced to back the Spaniard when the transfer window reopens in January.

One man who could be the perfect addition to the squad is Bordeaux forward – Francois Kamano. Valued at £6.3m by Transfermarkt, the Guinean has been a critical player for the French side since joining from Bastia back in 2016. Kamano hit eight goals and registered four assists in Ligue 1 last season.

The 22-year-old has made a blistering start to the new campaign, netting three goals in Bordeaux’s opening four fixtures. Kamano is blessed with frightening pace, and the left winger is comfortable on the right as well as the central striker. He loves to beat his man, averaging 1.3 successful dribbles per game last season (WhoScored), and whip in a cross or take a shot on goal.

Should his goalscoring exploits continue, competition for his signature will be fierce. Newcastle must move quickly to get their man.
