If these 2 Newcastle United players don’t start performing, Benitez needs to sell them imminently

With the European transfer window and EFL loan window slamming shut imminently, Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez will be feeling the pressure to sort out any potential outgoings as soon as possible.

It’s been a slightly disappointing start to the season for the Magpies. Losing at home to Tottenham Hotspur, before missing a last minute penalty at Cardiff City which would have secured the Magpies three points.

The clock is ticking for certain players to impress the Spanish boss, if they don’t, they could risk being moved on from St James’ Park.

With that in mind, here are two players who need to impress Rafa Benitez quickly to avoid the risk of being sold…

Paul Dummett

The Newcastle United left-back is valued at £3.15m by Transfermarkt. Considering the EFL loan window is still open, a second tier side might wish to take the 26-year-old on a loan deal.

Dummett is perhaps just not the quality needed to be involved at the right end of the Premier League. He is no more than a functional left-back, modern day full-backs are often expected to contribute in an attacking sense as well as defensively.

He needs to look to impress Rafa Benitez in training imminently to justify his place in the side.

Ayoze Perez

The Tenerife-born 25-year-old has shown himself to be somewhat of a lightweight player who drifts in and out of games in recent times.

Considering the European window is still open, a move back to domestic Spain could be on the cards. His game is perhaps better suited to La Liga football than the more physical English game.

Ayoze Perez is valued at £9m by Transfermarkt, so the Magpies could fetch a decent price for the talent.
