Image: Official Newcastle United sponsor take aim at Sam Allardyce ahead of Everton clash

The Newcastle United fans here in the Transfer Tavern are nervous ahead of this evening’s game with Everton and the punters propping up our bar are dreading the idea of a third relegation within a decade.

Indeed, considering the crisis surrounding the club’s potential takeover, our resident Geordies are oh so concerned about the fate of their campaign. So, it’s fair to say the members of the Toon Army who frequent in their droves are rather down in the dumps, to say the least.

Well, while no news in regards to the aforementioned takeover has emerged, the club’s sponsor taking a jibe at Sam Allardyce has at least lightened the mood in our bar. FUN88, who’ve proven themselves to be rather entertaining social media since partnering Newcastle United over the course of the summer, took to Twitter to make a joke about Big Sam.

They posted a photo of the Everton chief, with the caption,“I don’t think the media always give me a fair shake,” says Sam Allardyce in long, direct, boring press conference”, in reference to the former England manager’s constant lamenting of his treatment in the press.

Having had a hugely unsuccessful stint in charge of the Toon Army way back in 2007 and then managed Sunderland, the 63-year-old is far from a popular figure in our bar, so you can imagine how well this went down.
