Injury blow could lead to last minute Newcastle United exit – Report

Newcastle fans here in the Tavern are hoping that their side can climb out of trouble, with their current youth system looking to provide a successful future on Tyneside.

Rafa Benitez is about to enter the most important couple of days in his managerial career, as transfer window business is needed now more than ever with the Magpies’ Premier League future on the line. However, it looks as if the only interest coming out of St James’ Park is for a potential departure, as the Toon Army continue to voice their concern with additions to be had. As according to reports in the Scottish Sun, Scottish side Aberdeen are eyeing a move for Newcastle keeper Freddie Woodman.

Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes is dipping into the market after he received news that his first-choice goalkeeper Joe Lewis is set to be sidelined for months, due to suffering an injury in yesterday’s Scottish Premier League fixture. And, they now seek Freddie Woodman as the ideal replacement, after already enjoying a stint over in Scotland last season with Kilmarnock. However, the 20-year-old would only be making the switch in a supposed loan deal, with the future of the keeper being far too promising for the Magpies to let him out of their sights.

St James’ Park’s surroundings surely can’t currently facilitate for the young shot-stopper who currently sits as their third-choice keeper, a switch to Pittodrie until the end of the season is looking like a promising move for both club and player. And, after being a part of the England U-20 World Cup winning squad in the summer, it looks as if the Dons have got themselves a future star. But, for a player that’ll have a huge say in the future of Newcastle United, Benitez will be keeping a close eye on the progress of the youngster.

Landlord’s Verdict:

The goalkeeper is already one of England’s most promising young shot-stoppers, and the prospect of having him at St James’ Park in the future is something that excites Newcastle United fans. But for now, a move to Scotland would suit the progression of the youngster, and would provide him with valuable game-time in a competitive Scottish top-flight.
