It’s quite clear these 2 Newcastle players need to leave in January after miserable season start

Newcastle United are currently languishing towards bottom place in the Premier League, with an owner who makes the footballing world cringe, a team who are failing to earn their wage and living in constant, crippling fear that their manager may jump ship. Needless to say that the situation at the club is dire.

Although fans were treated to some temporary excitement at Old Trafford, after going 2-0 within 10 minutes, their hopes for a mammoth first league victory were quickly dashed as Mata, Martial, and Alexis Sanchez completed a spectacular comeback to make the game 3-2.

The following will discuss which two players should leave in January, but realistically the majority of the team could be put in this category…

Isaac Hayden

After making a move from Arsenal at the start of the 2017/18 season, Isaac Hayden hasn’t really made much of a positive impact. Hayden’s most recent notable contribution to the squad was earning himself a red card this season, which left him suspended for two big games in the Premier League. Other than that, the Englishmen hasn’t really provided much other than two appearances. His record of 1 goal in 28 games, and 7 yellow cards, coupled up with the single red mentioned earlier, would suggest there isn’t much more heading the Magpie’s way either.

As per The Northern EchoHayden has recently announced his intention to leave the club, following a transfer request this summer, due to family reasons. It’s evident that his heart simply isn’t in it so it’s probably wise he’s moved on sooner rather than later.

Christian Atsu

Atsu is another player who has failed to make much of an impact since moving over from Chelsea. He’s evidently got bags of pace, and some ability on the ball, but there’s no real conversion to his game, and his record would corroborate this concern (2 goals and 2 assists in 29 games last season).

At a time when Newcastle need their creative players firing on all cylinders, Atsu doesn’t look ready to answer the call.
