Newcastle will be hoping that their inspired run of form will continue and that again, Rafa Benitez can steer them away from trouble.
In a manager, they have the outstanding Rafa Benitez, a man who single-handedly saved the club from relegation on his own last season, as well as thanks to a flurry of good performances at the latter end of the campaign.
The club remains a mess though and despite how unlikely it maybe they invest in January, they need to ensure their safety for next season and some new players can help achieve that.
On the wing, the likes of Kenedy, Ritchie and Murphy haven’t been performing all too consistently so with another winger brought in, someone like Bournemouth’s Jordon Ibe, Newcastle could be a lot more dangerous going forward.
Ibe, who is valued at £8.1 million on Transfermarkt, is a player who has never quite lived up to expectation.
Much was made of his move to Bournemouth from Liverpool as many expected him to kick on and become a regular with the Cherries.
That though, hasn’t happened as Ibe has only played in five Premier League matches this season. The tricky winger took what seemed to be an eternity to start firing for Bournemouth but when on-form, he is undoubtedly a talented player that could have a telling impact on a game.
Newcastle will be wanting the club’s hierarchy to do whatever they can to improve their chances at success this season, despite how unlikely that actually is to happen.
A big club needs big players and with a regular spot in the team, there is no reason why 22-year-old Jordon Ibe wouldn’t be a success at St James’ Park.
