The Newcastle fans in the Transfer Tavern have been getting behind their Ghanaian winger, Christian Atsu, as he looks to battle back from a knee injury this summer in time for the club’s pre-season.

Atsu posted a video on Twitter of him training by himself and the fans were buzzing to see him back out on a football pitch with a ball at his feet. The wing-wizard was crocked with a knee injury and missed the last six games of the season for the Magpies, although he should be back fit and ready for the new season and the fans are all ready to get behind their winger who contributed two goals and two assists in the Premier League last season.
The club has reportedly been looking into securing the permanent signing of Kenedy from Chelsea this summer and that move could scupper Atsu’s chances of first-team football this season, however, the Ghanaian is not one who will lay down and accept a place on the bench. At the age of just 26, Atsu has already amassed 57 caps for his country which just shows what he’s capable of, with Newcastle set to reap the rewards of his hard work this season after a long summer of intense recovery.

As you can see, there’s nothing but support from the Magpies for Atsu and they’ll all be hoping he can be fit and firing for their Premier League opener at home to Tottenham.
