Newcastle United fans here in the Tavern are looking for Rafa Benitez to take them places in the next campaign. Although, this will all depend on how well some of their summer signings perform, with Ki Sung-yueng possibly having a positive impact on proceedings next season.
The Magpies didn’t manage to ensure consistency throughout the last campaign as they flirted with the possibility of relegation at times. Although, Rafa Benitez does have aims of challenging near the top in the near future, so perhaps Newcastle will secure a European spot in the next campaign.
However, they’ll need to get the best out of their new signing Ki Sung-yueng if they are to stand any chance of challenging some of the big guns next season. So, the Spaniard may have to dip into the transfer market to secure a couple of impressive players that can help bring Ki’s game on leaps and bounds.
Without further ado, Ki still needs Newcastle to land these TWO stars to flourish…
Andros Townsend enjoyed a successful spell at St James’ Park before moving to Crystal Palace, but it now looks as if the Magpies are trying to bring him back to the club.
Ki Sung-yueng loves to play diagonal balls out wide and looks to get players in behind the opposition’s defenders, which is perfect for someone like Townsend, who uses his electrifying pace to gain an extra yard on his defender.
Badou Ndiaye has attracted a lot of interest this summer after his current club Stoke City were relegated to the Championship.
The central midfielder impressed at the World Cup for Senegal and will no doubt be on the move at some point this summer.
Newcastle could do with bringing in another midfielder that can create space and hurry the opposition into making mistakes by taking up a dogged approach. Indeed, with Ki Sung-yueng relishing space in the middle of the park, Ndiaye would be the perfect addition to help develop the South Korean’s game.
