Landing £7.2m-rated World Cup winner would bring so much to Newcastle United next season

The Newcastle fans within the Transfer Tavern are ever hopeful of remaining in the Premier League this season with the players performing at the vital time. It hasn’t been an easy task but Rafa Benitez has led his team away from the relegation zone.

In the end, it seems that the Magpies had just enough quality to remain in the league but with games still remaining for the rest of the campaign, all can quickly change. That, however, is unlikely and Rafa Benitez should be applauded as to how well he has done with so little at his disposal.

It will again be a hard season next year but if Newcastle want to increase their chances of staying in the Premier League once again, Tottenham’s unused Fernando Llorente should be a player they look to bring to St James’ Park. Some may be put off by Llorente’s tender age of 33 but the Spaniard has proven over the past two seasons that he is still a goalscorer at the highest level.

First, his stint at Swansea saw the striker prosper with 15 goals and now as number two behind Harry Kane, Llorente has managed to score five goals, proving he definitely still knows where the goal is. Newcastle have been crying out for a goalscorer all season long and Fernando Llorente certainly fits in that category. The powerful Spaniard brings so much to the game, with his ferocious ability in the air, his technical prowess and his goalscoring technique all costing just £7.20 million according to Transfermarkt.

Landlord’s Verdict:

Newcastle would be the perfect club for Llorente to guarantee himself regular football action and the Magpies would certainly benefit from his goals. A World Cup winner, he’d give the Magpies an air of experience they’ve lacked all season ahead of what is hopefully a stronger showing.
