While the week may have got off to a fairly poor start for the Newcastle United after the watched their side lose away at Burnley, it’s fair to say our Geordie contingent were rather loud last night.
Indeed, our punters clad in black and white were dancing on the pool tables following the continuation of Sunderland’s plight in the Championship, with the Black Cats remaining third-bottom of the league after a 3-3 draw at home to lowly Bolton Wanderers.
Manager Simon Grayson was sacked shortly after the game and the sight of their rivals struggling as the Toon march upwards has pleased a fair few of our resident Magpies. In fact, there was even more to shout about last night.
Sammy Ameobi – brother of the infamous ‘Mackem Slayer’ Shola – grabbed the first goal of the game at the Stadium of Light, much to the delight of the Newcastle-mad punters who prop up our bar here.
With that in mind, here’s a look at how they reacted to Ameobi’s goal last night.
