Our Newcastle fans here in the Transfer Tavern cannot wait for the season to get going with them back in the Premier League after their year away.
Our local Magpies took in the Championship action over the weekend with big smiles on their faces knowing that they wouldn’t be a part of that division this season and now focus is firmly on the game against Spurs this weekend.
How the men from Tyneside get on, then, remains to be seen but after their victory in their final friendly game against Hellas Verona at the weekend, the players should be in good spirits.
Indeed, it was a taste of what it is like to play at St. James’ in black and white for the new signings at the club and Jacob Murphy – an ardent fan of the club – was quick to post about that on Twitter afterwards.
Here, then, is the best of the reaction to the tweet:
First footsteps onto St. James’ park this afternoon, what a feeling, can’t wait to be back there next weekend with you all again #NUFC

Score yourself a goal, in front of a sold out St James Park, and you’ll feel the noise of the toon army! Make us love you, Jacob!
