Newcastle know that there are problematic times ahead as the team have re-entered the relegation zone.
With money still not available, Rafa Benitez will have to work wonders with the little he has at his disposal, should Newcastle have any chance of staying in the Premier League.
It’s deeply worrying times for all involved with the club but they have to try and make improvements to their squad where possible during this window.
Having seen talk of a few midfielders allowed to leave the club during this window, there are a lot worse players Newcastle could sign than their former midfielder Yohan Cabaye.
The Frenchman, (who is valued at £9 million on Transfermarkt) was let go by Al Nasr even though he joined them in the summer on a two-year deal from Crystal Palace.
If you are a Newcastle fan right now, you would perk up in the hope the club can be re-united with their former hero and a man who brought so much good to the team.
It would be surprising to see a deal go through but the Frenchman still has quality he could provide to Newcastle. From his top dead-ball delivery to his quality vision, Cabaye still has the talent to fit right back in at St James’ Park.
Seeing as Mo Diame and Jonjo Shelvey are sitting on the sideline currently, the club could do a lot worse than filling the gap in midfield by signing Yohan Cabaye on a free transfer.
It will undoubtedly take more than the 33-year-old to secure Premier League safety but his addition would be a step in the right direction and a deal Newcastle should really contemplate doing.
