Newcastle United supporters have been making a lot of noise in the Transfer Tavern in the last few days after seeing their side clinch a massive 1-0 victory over Manchester United on Sunday to move out of the Premier League’s bottom three.
Rafa Benitez’s men slipped into the relegation zone prior to kick-off on Sunday following Huddersfield Town’s 4-1 success over Bournemouth earlier in the day, further increasing the pressure on the Magpies ahead of their clash with Jose Mourinho’s second place United. Yet the North East giants produced an excellent display to deservedly get the better of the Red Devils, with Matt Ritchie’s strike midway through the second half enough to seal all three points for Benitez’s side, in turn moving them up to 13th place in the division.
Consequently, there have been many delighted Newcastle fans in the Tavern in recent times, several of whom are hoping Sunday’s victory can be the catalyst for a run of form which will banish any lingering relegation fears for good.
In the meantime though, there has been much for our resident Magpies supporters to discuss, not least Monday evening’s 3-0 victory for Chelsea over Premier League bottom club West Brom at Stamford Bridge.
But it was the action in the first few minutes which stimulated quite a response from Newcastle fans on Twitter, with Baggies striker Daniel Sturridge, linked with a move to St James’ Park during January, limping off injured just three minutes into the contest.
And those Magpies fans on social media were all saying the same thing following his withdrawal on Monday night…

In football you need a bit of luck. #NUFC certainly got some when Sturridge when to WBA and Hart stayed at West Ham.
