Newcastle fans confidence is on the floor with fixtures not getting easier

Newcastle United have had one of the toughest starts to the Premier League season that any side has ever had. A 0-0 draw away at Cardiff has brought them their only point so far as they’ve fallen to 2-1 defeats against Tottenham, Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal. Next up they’ve got Crystal Palace, Leicester and Manchester United and the fans are getting very worried.

Newcastle are yet to look really poor. Against Arsenal, they were flat at times, but that doesn’t mean they were poor all the way through. They did well to hold Unai Emery’s side during the first half despite the fact they started without star midfielder Jonjo Shelvey and big-money striker Salomon Rondon. Instead, Joselu and Isaac Hayden were chosen to start and the fans weren’t best pleased with that decision.

The Magpies will be keen to grab their first three points of the season in the capital against Crystal Palace next Saturday and if they get Rondon and Shelvey back in the eleven then it wouldn’t be the strangest result to see them nick a win. The fans are low on confidence and have little faith when it comes to their club at the moment and it’s hard to blame them. However, they’ll have to be in good voice and get behind their side if they are to get that elusive first win.

The fans are wondering where the next points will come from and if they can get a win in one of their next three it will be crucial for the club as they aim to avoid the drop.
